False Alarm

Well, what we thought was . . wasn’t. It was a false alarm. After checking in and unpacking to get ready for what we thought would be the beginning of active labor was not to be. The doctor did a physical check and no signs of the water bag breaking. We also did an ultra sound to see how much amnionic fluid if any, was loss. All tests came out ok so Eian is doing fine. We’re glad it was a false alarm because now we can get some rest, since we haven’t had good sleep the last couple nights and we can both rehabilitate our backs some more.  Tam was getting nervous since labor wasn’t really taking hold and we know that they want to induce after ‘x’ amount of hours from the time the water breaks to reduce the risk of infection.  Now, we can labor and not worry about being induced.

Anyway, thanks for checking in on us.   Please pray for our backs.  We both need to be in good condition.  Oh, they actually determined that my (Tam’s) back issues were from a strain.  I twisted my knee the other day, which wasn’t painful, but it did start to bother me a little a couple days ago and I started walking funny.  So, that’s the scoop!  I’m having contractions that I can feel now.  More to come later.

Aloha!

  • OK, who wrote this post?!? First it sounded like San was writing, then it was Tam…what in the world! :o )

Your Auntie Jacki said to tell you not to be “ashamed” to ask for meds when you are in labor. She had really severe back labor with Brianna, and she “toughed it out” and wishes she hadn’t. Her labor sounded a lot like the pain you were having in your back the other day, she couldn’t feel individual contractions, her back just hurt constantly, the whole time. We’re all praying and rooting for you, wish I could be there, but at least you have Sanford, and he’s such a good help to you!!

  • Ha! I know. San started the post and I finished it.

  • Oh Tamara,
Tell yourself….NO WORRIES……..When labour starts it starts!! Could your back pain be from your UTI, I have one right now and it ended up being a kidney infection, because I didn’t get the clue when I had frontal pain (bladder infection) I waited until it got really bad and went to my back (kidney infection). So I am praying……Father, your daughter is waiting on Your Son to be glorified! Use this labour and delivery to reach people in the hospital, let all see your presence and feel your love! Allow Tamara to experience the birth you have for her may her thoughts be quiet and may San and Tamara rest in you! Heal their backs with plenty of rest and do it quickly. Thank you for the health they walk in, that Tamara took this time to grow a healthy baby and also keep herself physically fit. You are lovely Lord be blessed with this delivery.
    Love you,Kelley
PS. we all make a false run…..we have never been through this! Blessings

  • Praying for you and for a safe delivery of your precious baby boy!

  • Labor is such a mystery. There have been so many times (with each of my children) that I’ve thought, “this is it,… no, this has to be it…., no, I KNOW this is it,” and it wasn’t :) I think the worst was with Guenna, I thought I was in labor for days and when I finally gave up and decided I wasn’t in labor, I started labor in the middle of the night and it was a dozy!

So bless you my sister, you know he will come when it’s the right time. And you are SOOOO close! If only I could come so that I could hold my little nephew when he’s tiny, but that’s life! He will be big and chunky and I’m sure really cute by the time I get to see him. Well I better get to bed, the heartburn is setting in early tonight, this little stinker :) Love you!
